You know I was just thinking how everything in bf2 is brown. What happened to the variety of 1942. Come on throw in some jungle stuff, some urban european warfare, and maybe somemore of that naval stuff from special forces. Even some variety in the level itself. For example take Eagles Nest level from Secret weapons, it was rural european combat then it went to moutainous snow coverd battles. I just want some variety.
Edit: How come there are never any fps's for WWI? |

I know what you mean, everything is sand or brown. But it's too late now I think, once Armored Fury and 1.3 are out nothing will change most likely.
Good question though, why don't they have many Great War fps games...I would say it's prolly not the easiest game to make without it being completely inacurrate to the time. Go over the top, get mowed down by machine guns then blasted to hell by arty. Doesn't sound like the greatest fun... *If that is not how WWI went, please correct me ![]() |

Most of the British and French battles against the Germans were trench warfare. So yes, they would sit around in the trenches a while, throw some artillary back and fourth, go over the top, and most would die. However there are other battles which include the French, British, Americans, Aussies, Turkish, Germans, and Russians (basically everyone) in which they were out of the trenches. Such as in towns, or woods, or when they met in open fields. Then there is Galipolli. However that was a mix of invasion and trench/run in the open and die. The mod BF1918 does a good job at the war. Although most of it is out of the trenches, and since it can't replicate the vast numbers that were in the war, it is a bit inaccurate. But overall you get the feeling of WWI.
Now back to the matter at hand. There are some jungle maps in the game, but I do see what you mean. Most are brownish or a dark green/drab tone. I'm guessing its trying to go with the desert theme of modern warfare. However I could definatly use with a variety of maps, like you said. Thats what made BF42 a classic, and BF2 a sequal.
