well when a dogfight map will be released.. most players will be flying (including your teamm8s). The possibility to hit your teamm8s with autotrackin on is much greater..

OoOoOo... i see what you mean, instead of it auto-locking on the first enemy it see's u choose it, put ur HUD over an enemy and press a button.

i dont think would help in anyway tho, cuz if u miss the missle still goes haywire. i hardly ever use missles anyway. 80% of my kills are gun kills.

Missiles actually hitting what you're aiming at? No more errant missiles making a 90 degree turn just feet from an enemy chopper/plane & hitting your buddies in a BH/Slug on the other side of the map? Are you mad?

Now that I could go for, though I'm not sure how the chopper pilots would take to being shot down with every pass a plane makes.

i dont think they should change a thing. i like the stuff how it is. one this that i could live with is, if u do use missles, the missle self-detonates when if u do miss. that way it doest go stray and kill friendlies.

but if u have a problem with missles going stray, u can always use guns.

i think u misunderstand what id like to see...

sometimes when you are in a dog fight.. a fellow team fighter pilot is chasing the same enemy. In most cases the tracking missile is chasing the heat source closest to its position (even if locked on to something else). Most of the current maps have a max of 2 available planes... a dogfight map is all about planes. Imagine 4 friendlies before you chasing the same plane you are chasing. You most likely will hit them instead of the locked enemy with the tracking on.. Turn of trackin and the missile flies in a straight line (*link in DesertCombat). Switching "tracking" is good for YOUR TEAM SCORES (in that case).

Yep, I know exactly what you mean m8; I was just compounding your argument by having a sardonic dig at EA/Dice's idea of "heatseaking" missiles. :P

I'm all for "dumb" missiles that go where I want them to (ala DC), rather than the current "smart" ones that have a mind (a deranged one at that) of their own. I get the feeling though, that if it was ever introduced in a patch, the chopper jockeys would cry foul. Which is fine by me, btw.
