Default Controls are VERY sluggish

Hi everyone,

I have these specs, but my controls are VERY sluggish. For example, I hold W (to walk forward) for 2 seconds, the player walks for like 10 seconds. I click on FIRE once, it unloads 5 clips.

P4 2.66GHZ
1024 MB RAM
ATI Radeon X850XT 256MB

Any one encounter these problems before? The graphics are working very well; the water looks amazing and the characters looks perfectly fine; it's just the controls are very very very sluggish.

You put in a command and you're left behind and have to wait.
Somethings not in sync and is trying to catch up.

What kind of sound card do you have, and what are your current sound settings?

Knowing the input devices may help as well. What's you keyboard/mouse/joystick and are they battery dependent or wireless?

I'm going to say it has something to do with the processor. Or there may be another program running that is eating up all the processing power and causing the lag.

With those kinds of specs, it's unlikely to be at your end. It sounds more like packet loss over the network. Your packets carrying the 'start' action are sent eventually, but the 'stop' action isn't received for a while. Depending on how your data packets are transmitted to the server, the 'lag' you experience can vary.

If it was hardware, there'd likely be a consistent delay between action request and action.

It's a Battlefield 2 webcomic.
It's about playing against idiots. What more do you want?
Guns? Done.
Monkeys? Done.
Ninjas? Hmm, I'll get back to you.
