I can't uninstall BF2. Can't do it through Windows Add/Remove, and I can't uninstall through BF2's uninstaller either. The uninstall crashes using either method after it asks what language to use? Crazy! How do uninstall then?
I need to do a reinstall because the game crashes to desktop when trying to join a server.

Consider yourself lucky. I have to format C: now to install BF2 after cleaning up my C: directory of old BF1942, Secret Weapons demo and Road to Rome.
What happened is that after deleting those older BF's...I'd click a BF2 net game and be dropped back to desktop. I worked 7 hours trying every fix. Many in other forums mentioned monitor refresh rate had been changed. I tried every setting. It was too late to reinstall those BF's as I had deleted them...restore point couldn't help. Some others are in the same boat as I am...from reading other forums. It seems those early games intermeshed BF2 and XP settings. It left me unable to uninstall BF2 nor install it. Clearing out all registry of EA GAMES and Battlefield 2 keys didn't help. If you have previous BF games on your HDD, like a demo...leave them there..don't uninstall them. Only BF2 won't install...BF1942 and any others will. |
