Cool pics, guys...
But I don't think the F-14 one is real. Looks like a very nice drawing, though.

The F14 pic does look too sweet to be a real photograph, but I have seen jets kicking up spray like that. By flying that low they get a rebound effect underneath their fuselage from the airpressure off the surface of the water which helps increase their lift and overall fuel economy. Looks bad as shit, too *grin*.
I built a caterpault once in high school. Big twin armed torsion device for firing spears. We never got to fire it, though, the oak split when we put tension on the beams to prepare it for firing. The other we built was just your normal "giant crossbow" style caterpault and we set a temporary world distance record with that one. There was a great show on PBS last year I think where a bunch of engineers built a couple of the huge siege engines and fired off some rather large stones with them at a stone "fort" they built, all on the shore of famous Loch Ness. Man, you wouldn't believe what those things could do to a double thick stone wall (two layers of stone with a layer of dirt and rock debris in between, roughly 4 to 6 feet thick), truly amazing.

mmm that water looks too big compared to the plane though, if you know what i mean.
Like when you see movies that use models to depict a dam breaking on a town or something, like superman 1.
