its not that surprising - atari has been going downhill for a long time, and they had been all bought up. Just the last official offshoot of Atari is closing. Bound to happen eventually.

my brother had Atari, it was sooo awesome. first "game" I ever played by watching a scrren. My personal favorite game was Pitfall

yeah pitfall was awesome...the grfx on those games look so simple now, but try superbreakout or one of those and see why it's so addictive for such a stupid little game.
