Arguably the best military historian has died...

Not sure if this was covered already, but Stephen Ambrose, a wonderful author and historian (author of Band of Brothers, Citizen Soldiers) died yesterday at the age of 60.

He had been battling lung cancer for many months and sadly, passed away. Ambrose brought the return of attention and admiration for some of the bravest men, in U.S. and world history. He was always very careful to present the story in its purest and most truthful form, avoiding propaganda.

Not many writers around like him.

Yeah he was a wonderful author and i loved his insightfulness when he would appear on FOX news. He will be sorely miss.

DAMN! I didn't know that! The world is a sadder, quieter place now...

And I was hoping to eventually visit the National D-Day museum in New Orleans and maybe meet him...
