So, I saw this movie tonight. It rawkS. Whomever wrote the story caught the Joker perfect. But something odd happened during the previews.
Have you ever gone to see a movie, then see a trailer for something coming that make you forget what you went to see? Yea, that happened. Yea, I -forgot-, I was there to see the Dark Knight YES, I GOT TO SEE THE OWL-PLANE COME OUT OF THE EAST RIVER WATCHMEN MOVIE **Edit** But 'Dark Knight was so good, I actually forgot the title to Watchmen ,... for a few seconds. Ive been waiting on this film for -EONS-

Believe it or not, there were other movies opening and playing at the box office. Ten bucks says the fanboy craze runs outta fuel in about a week or so. Not that any here were. I'm sure its a good movie, but its just Batman to me. I don't get all the hype for it.
And if/when the fanboy craze dies out, they still broke/set all those records, so they win.

Most of those other movies that this movie smashed got mixed reviews.
Ah...the movie going public. Was Iron Man any good? It's supposed to be equal as a comic book movie. Last edited by Caslon : 07-21-2008 at 09:21 AM. |

Yea,.. Absolutely they did,.. Like Godfather,... that got all kinds of mixed reviews,... oh, wait, NO. Cas, the numbers you show are an 'all time high'. They blow away 'All that has gone before it', not just what was playing that weekend. I am a batman fan, but no, I would never have figgered a response like this. The only thing that could have done it was a cast member died before release. |

Yeah, I agree Heath's demise has pushed this movie.

I'm not too impressed with all the stories about it being a record weekend in terms of money. It seems that every year it gets more expensive to go the the movies, so you'd expect records to be broken every few years. Records associated with number of people attending are more meaningful, IMO.
