No Far Cry 2 demo

It was announced 4 days ago or so.

They figured that, with such a open ended game and the terrain, you
could download a demo of Far Cry2 and play it for 30 hours or something.

I suppose I can see their reasoning.

Of course, the word "planned" doesn't mean there won't be one. "Pre-release demo" is the keyword here.

Everyone was posting reports there would be no demo of COD4, then there was one after release. I wish I had known that. I paid for COD4 after they released a post release demo (didnt know) and am one of the few who didn't really dig it all that much.

CoD4 released a demo a month before the game came out. I know, I played it.

OK, Damn. I must have locked in on early rumors of no demo for COD4..then lost track.

There was a single player demo, but no multiplayer demo for COD4. The single player demo showed much of what the multiplayer gameplay was like though, imo. Nade spam, nade spam, kill lots, die lots, start the next round/level.

I wouldn't mind seeing a FC2 demo myself. I enjoyed Far Cry, but dislike the arcade style of Crysis. It'd would be nice to see if they learned from their mistakes Crysis or just made a similar simulator in an alternate environment. Hopefully they'll come out with one after the release.
