Saw this on the latest episode of Diggnation for a story on Digg I missed, checked it out today and this is a really neat little trick.
Disguise Yourself As Google Bot - Quicksilverscreen Forum! and heres the firefox extension to be able to use it, go through that forum topic to see how to put the right data into it. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59

I actually got myself that xml file somebody was talking about in the forum, and switched to a Googlebot 2.1. Now I still don't know how to get into any password-protected sites.

It's useful for sites like Experts-Exchange who always have EXACTLY the solution you want in the Google summary, but when you open the link it says you need to subscribe. Although then it's easier just to open the Google cache version.

Chris: It doesn't work, most porn sites already excluded the Google Bots from their member areas. Why would a Google Bot need to look at porn?

Even if you got access to most porn sites, you need a password to download most videos, so all you' d get at most is pictars. Which are boring.

What Hahn described is the best use of this hack, porn sites its not too handy on, like most of you have described. I still find it very useful
