I don't really know anything about USPS as I live in the UK. About 2 weeks ago I bought a model plane from an American Company. I'm not worried about the 2 week wait, as I trust the company well. I recieved an automatic email saying:

If they did try and somehow didnt get an answer to the door, what is their procedure? Do they send it back to the sender? Or will they contact me and arrange to have it delivered another day? Thanks! |

I guess once USPS hits the UK it will be passed over to RM. I recon they attempted to deliver it to you today but no one was in. Usually they will either drop a card through your door or attempt delivery next working day.

OK guys, it's sorted.
Basically there was a customs charge and they hadn't told me. I rang parcelforce (who now have the item in their local depot) and I arranged to pick it up tomorrow. Customs sucks. It will likely be more than the cash saved by buying from America. Why does the UK have to suck so much?! |

Customs will nail your ass every single fucking time you save money on something. You always end up paying more. Might as well visit your local stores and buy there.
Usually, letter carriers should leave a deliver notice on your door to tell you that delivery was attempted and that you should go to your nearest postal counter to pick it up. Its how we we do it when the customer isnt home. |

Yea, i know fedex here will leave a notice the first two attempts for delivery and then you need to go pick it up at the facility they list on the second slip. And customs...aye, customs is customs.

Yup customs are fucking gay. I went to the parcelforce depot today to pick up my item. They charged me £19.45 to cover customs and a handling fee.
That ridiculous considering the item itself only cost £70. (its a balsa remote control plane airframe btw, no cats for me) |
