Call of duty is the best pc game of the year (gamespy) man, I mean its just totally ruled other games. Im happy for the infinty ward people man, they did a really nice job on it. Plus Desert combat is the best mod of the year too! I wonder whats BF vietnam gona be like next year?

Bah, mine is back in the box. It sucks compared to BF. CoD is way too linear. Oh, and the cheats are horrible, way worse than BF, thats a fact!!!

I thought it was fun, but it was too short. After I finished it, I was all, "wow!" but I had no urge to go back and do it again.
Can people mod this game? That would offer more fun, like "desert combat" for COD, or something. Otherwise, I pry wont play it for a while. |

How can they possibly award CoD game of the year ? I mean, I know its an excellent game, with super sound, but it dosn´t realy introduce any NEW features ! Also its way to short for even a fps.
And I mean MP basicaly seems to be very good, but also not new (besides all the cheat comlaints). There are so many other excellent games that introduce so many original ideas to the gaming world, that people should reward the evolution, not stagnation...

Yeah... the single player is impressive, but it's really in a "cinematic" way- very impressives "scenes".
But the game itself... nothing REALLY new. The whole being part of a squad is well done, but not really new. And the missions are WAY too linear for me. Bring something new to the table... like BF did.

uh, I dont want my BF being tainted with the q3 engine thank you very much. BF graphics are way better than q3.

Oh wow, ironsights. I was just playing the Silent Heros mod for BF and they have ironsights. Its not that big of an achievement.
http://www.silentheroes.se/media/scr...ght7_hk21e.jpg Cod is a mix of DoD, RTCW with a tweaked out q3 engine. Nothing really new to deserve game of the year. But since every CS kiddie probably voted for CoD since thats their game now. Thats what this discussion is all about. I been playing BF for the last year so I dont know what its competition was but last year it was BF and the year before that it was RTCW. These game brought something new where as CoD didnt really do anything that spectacular. Except give those CS kiddies a little update to their very outdated game. The flak guns in SP were damn cool though.

For all the complaining about how un-innovative CoD was, noone has presented any better candidates.
I really liked CoD's SP, despite it's brevity. I mean sure it was short and the AI could have been alot better, but it was a hell of an experience. MP on our campus network is also rock solid.

Right, I would like to see some of the other games that were in the running. Maybe CoD was the best choice. Slow year I guess.
And I put mine back in the box when I heard about cheats. Downloaded and tried it out. You can see right through walls and buildings and everyone is lit up like a christmas tree. Havent touched CoD since. Game of the year my ass.
