Yeah i got to see it! I got to go to this marketing research thing and got to see 3 versions. I talked the person into going with the version where its showing the game and there is patriotic music in the backround while an American guys is reading a letter he is writing to his mother, then it switches to a British guy and Russian guy doing the same. Its pretty cool. Look out for this one soon!

Still beats the shit out of BF1942's rendering capabilites. The Quake III engine is only second to the Unreal engine in terms of engines commerically released. Yeah, it's something like 4 years old too. :P

its a great engine, but it needs to be shoot, in the head. The bf engine is wonderful, I mean it alsos uch large maps with, great ground textures. Quake 3/unreal wouldnt of worked. Quake 3, is for lazy devolpers. every game on it feels the same...

I downloaded some quicktime movies from IGN.com.
This game is going to blow Medal of Honor out of the water. The movie I downloaded looks like the opening to Enemy at the Gates. There were these boats, with planes doing strafing runs. Graphics look great. I cant wait to play this game. It looks like the AI might actually be worth something for a change.

Unreal would have worked (and been wonderful) if it had the best netcoders in the industry optimizing it. It can render nearly the same size maps and considering BF doesn't use as much polys as Unreal games do you could just minimize everything and spare polys for even bigger maps and it would still look better then BF.

I respect an engine that is made solely for one game, not one thats been used over adn over like quake 3.

You should respect an engine that can stand the test of time and be licensed over and over. Any engine made for solely one game either sucks or well, sucks and no one wants it. The Quake III engine in its most recent form (Call of Duty) is hardly what it started to out as. Go start up Quake III and tell me if you'd ever see such a pathetic logo on the main screen on a game made now. Kudos to Carmack, but by today's standard that effect sucks. Yet the engine is still around! It's hardly what it was 4 years ago. If I had to pick any engine to make an FPS with it would be the Unreal engine, followed by the Quake III engine, and then the Serious Sam (Croteam?) engine. There's absolutely no point in making a totally new engine when you can enhance a great engine for your specific needs which the Quake III engine has demonstrated more then anything else - ever. Don't even say the Half-Life engine! Those are all mods! Nor Unreal, which has been behind more games then any other engine (look at when the original [which is technically what we have now] was made), but still hasn't demonstrated any genre flexibility like Quake III has (Alice for example).
