Airforce??

Has anybody noticed yet that the USMC runs the operations in BF2, while the pilots have "Airforce" written on their helmets?

marines use airforce equipment. there is not a seperate assembly plant for the differnt airforces, it all comes from the same place. (although the marines would fancy up their shit with their own decals)

but on BF2's part, it was prolly a stupid mistake.

Ummm, what? In real life, the USMC flies the F/A-18 Super Hornet, and (I believe) the Harrier jump jet. They may also still use the F-14 Tomcat, the A-6, and a few other planes, but I'm not sure. There may be some crossover in cargo and support a/c, such as the C-130 and C-17, but not fighters. I also think the Sikorsky CH/HH-53 Super Stallion/Sea King helos are cross-service, but they are being phased out for the Blackhawk, I think.

The only cross-platform airframe that I can recall in recent times was the F-4 Phantom II, which was used by the USAF, the USN and the USMC, although they all used different variants of the aircraft.

***EDIT*** I stand corrected. It appears the USMC did use a few TF-16Ns (Trainers, I assume), in the late 90s. But overall, I stand by my original statement.

lol, u misunderstood me. they use the same EQUIPMENT, not the same aircraft... ie: Helmets are the same, same radio equipment, flight suits, G-suits, mask, etc...

I'm pretty sure the Marines wouldn't have Airforce slapped on everything.
