I love how they announce the $200 price cut just after I payed $300 for an iTouch. But even if I did get the iPhone, I'd have to cancel my contract ($100 or $200 early termination fee), then get a new 2 year with at&t which I would have to pay at a minimum, $60 a month. Right now I'm paying $45. So it's money I don't have that I don't want to spend. But I'd still love to have one.

Yeah, I'm there. O2 said I can upgrade from my existing contract too, which is ace. The fact it comes with free BT Openzone + TheCloud wifi is pretty nice, and for everywhere else there's 3G obviously.

Here's hoping they actually release Spore soon too, looks like a great timewaster when you're waiting for the bus, etc.

I didn't know Spore was coming to iPhone. The demo comes out on June 17th.

Some of the games that they showcased looked amazing on the iPhone. It would be nice if they released demos you could download so you could try the game before buying it. Some things may look cool but then turn out to be a total waste.

Well, it's not definite yet -- they didn't demo it at the WWDC, which you'd think they would if it was coming out for sure. Here's hopin' though!

Just crack it so you can use it with any cellular service. There's no point to switching to AT&T when almost all the other services offer the same stuff.

I'll buy one but I'm prolly gonna have to wait a month or two after they're released because they'll be sold out everyone and there's no point to buying an overpriced on on ebay.

Yeah same. I'll either get one on O2 £35 contract (600 mins/500 texts) and pay £160 for the iPhone. Or wait and get one on eBay so I can unlock it using ZiPhone.

I aint paying the Pay As You Go price which is expected to be around £400 according to staff at O2.

Grrr, O2 are now saying I'm not eligible for the upgrade until April 09, or I can pay out the rest of this contract now (£200) to cancel it and start the iPhone one. I want to pay £15/m more for the remaining months of this contract, and then £35/m for another 18 months after that! How is it not win:win for them!

Cell phone retailers are losing money on the iPhone until 2009-2010. So if they allow you to switch, it will cost them more money.

I dunno... no iPhone means I pay £20/m for the next 10 months, then find another provider. Gain to them: £200.

Alternatively, I buy an iPhone (£169) and switch to a £35/m plan for the next 10 months, and sign a contract for 18 months after that. Gain to them: £1149.

Seems clear enough to me they'd be making money!

Yeah I guess, I could terminate for £200.. or pay £200 and get 10 months worth of free calls/texts. I'd like the phone, but I mean cmon.. I'm not gonna throw cash at them!
