BF2 Patch 1.41 Problem

I just downloaded the 1.41 patch for Battlefield 2 and it will not open from my desktop. I've tried restarting, but still the only thing that happens when I double click the .exe file is an hourglass for a few moments then nothing. I'm using the BF2:SF CD to run BF2 since I lost my Disk 1 of BF2, but I don't see that as being the problem. Was wondering if anyone could give me a hand with this.

Did you download the full 1.41 patch ? 500-600 MB?

Because that takes a while to load before it even shows any signs of installing. Took about 10 minutes with a friend of mine.

Yeah it was the full patch, a little over 500MB. I don't see why it would take 10 minutes to start up...I've got 4GB of RAM and duo core processors. Waiting so far hasn't fixed anything.

I have had a similar problem. It took ages for it to actually "start" installing. Just give it some time and post back if still no joy.

It has now been well over an hour with no response from the game. I tried opening the game and logging in, but the patch .exe file still won't budge.

Might be a messed up file. You may have to re-download it.

Thanks Naval, that ended up working. I downloaded the file twice of of EA ::Battlefield 2:: Home and got, apparently, a corrupted file twice. My third download from Fileplanet worked just fine.

i already install patch 1.41 after it i tried to play the game.. when i double click the game the screen turns black like it was working but then comes back in the desktop.... so this means i cant play..plz help me why this happen

Always list your pc specs. We can't help you being blind to your system specs.
