Cant install Battlefield! (installation Failed?)

Hello iv recently tryed installing battlefield due to the fact that i missed the game and now i cannot seem to install the damn thing! iv never had this problem before, this is the first for me. Iv been playing it for a while now but just recently iv reformatted and obviously the game was unninstalled. Anyway back to the problem after i put the cd in and go threw the step by step process it starts installing but then stops at the exact same time every time and an error message pops up saying, " Failed to install Battlefield 2, try again from the beginning" i can only take so much more of seeing this error message before i snap the disk in 2 PLEASE someone if they know how to fix this problem share your information about this annoying problem!!!

( by the it has nothing to due with the cd quality its practially brand new, i take good care of my cds so that i wouldnt reach the problem i am having now. in short theres no scratches on the motherfuc*er. )

Specs? Have you formatted your HD since last time you un-installed it? Any other problems with any other programs?

the last time i reformatted was a couple months ago. Just recently iv had the battlefield cravings so i decided to install it and now im faced with this delema, it baffles me. my specs are: Intel pent 4 2.6GHZ 2gb ram and ati radeon x1300 256mb and that i know of no other problems have arised yet.

BF has a lot of wierd MS install shield crap security features.
I uninstalled the BF2 demo and it screwed up my system.

I ended up having to format my hard drive to get retail BF2 installed again.

I tried everything.

hmm well iv reformatted AGAIN! just too see if i can get the game working but still no luck. I was thinking of going out and buying another copy of BF2 but i dont want to go and spend the $ on it and find out that even that copy does not work. Im in a jam and i cant get out of it, my opinion on BF2 was good before, better than good but now the coders or game tecs w.e that made this games internal aspects are LAZY ASSHOLES!!! like you said im not the only one, nor you that is having the same problems. Iv look on the net almost daily to an answer to my problem and theres thousands of people who are having the IDENTICAL problem as i am having, to pay money for a game that works for a limited time is a crock of shit. iv written a dirty letter to EA games and made countless calls to the Helpline ( not that they give 2 shits about the opinions of gamers, which they should ) but big companies like EA Games should have a better standard than this. Im speachless about this if EA did not have so many other good games out for the PC id boycott there neglectful asses but again we (the gamers) are always the ones getting whooped by these big companies. cheers to all that tryed to help me out i sincerly thank you for your time and patients. but SCREW EA and BF

If you have 2 CD (or dvd) readers, did you try the other one.
Or if you can, try a friend or somewhere where you can try installing on that pc.
Maybe it's a problem with the reader reading the cd-dvd.
