I paid rent, electricity and internet bills this week. I used the change to buy food. I guess I'll stick with my plain old DVD player for a bit longer yet.

I wouldn't say it sucked, but it wasn't as good as I thought it should have been.

Did you get a great deal on an HD DVD drive or something Grim? I would've pegged you as a Blue-ray man.

I've got drives for both formats, expensive but it means I don't miss out on any good movies.

Even if I could, I don't buy movies, and downloading HD rips are like 40GB or something ridiculous... A normal DVD looks fine on my monitor... I've seen HD-DVD on mine too, I couldn't really see the difference, I mean I could, but it wasn't OMGWOW or anything.

I'm not *that* into movie quality.

The reason you may not have been able to see the difference is because the difference isn't there. You can't display full HD on that monitor therefore you wont be getting the full benefits.

I've seen it on other ones too, and on them huuuuuuge tv's. We've had this discussion before, lol. I'm not saying its there, just to me it doesn't seem to be *that* much better.

This guy from uni is very much into it, as you seem to be, and was pointing out shit like you can spot all the bullet casings in the Matrix or something... great!

I'll get HD one day, be it HD-DVD or Blu-ray or whatever, but like its not something I need to be an early adopter for.
