SATA300 transfer rate
I just bought and installed a WD 3200AAKS 320GB HDD.
When running a benchmark in HDTune, the transfer rate averages at about 70MBps. I thought it was meant to be faster? |

While the SATA 300 interface is capable of supporting that transfer speed the internal mechanics of the drive are not. If you look at the burst speed of the drive it's likely to be much higher (still not being limited by the interface though).
