hey all,
I'm after and external HD to store documents etc. I found these: Seagate 320GB USB2.0 External Hard Drive 8MB Cache - Retail - £56.99, 320GB Seagate Western Digital 250GB MyBook Essential USB2.0 7200RPM 8MB Cache - Retail - £57.25, 250GB WD Western Digital 320GB MyBook Essential USB2.0 7200RPM 8MB Cache - Retail - £64.62, 320GB WD Freecom 250GB External USB2.0 Hard Drive - Retail - £57.52, 250GB Freecom The Freecom looks better, but I think the 320GB Seagate would be the better option as it is more GB per buck. Seagate are quite reputable also I think? plus, Ebuyer has an offer on now, that if I spend more than £30 and use the Google checkout link, I get £10 back! Woot! What would you recommend? Cheers! |

Out of those 4, I'd go with the Seagate since it's the cheapest for that much storage, and Seagate are a fine brand. But as Grim said, internal drives give you so much more storage for the same moneys.
Don't forget to use Google checkout for another tenner off ![]() |

Theyre handy at LANs I find, particularly anything that can handle multi PC access. Theres always some 'friend or a friend' whom I dont want his PC's cooties.
And, as for which drive: Go big, or Go Home. BOOYAH. **EDIT** Whups. fixed link. Thanks Titan |

OK grim, I got my new HD this morning.
My current SATA HD is plugged into the SATA port #2 on my motherboard (dunno why, I didn't build it). So should I put this new HD on #1? Does it matter which of the 4 SATA ports I put it on? Cheers mate! |
