Default How do think my system will fair?

I know that there are many "rate my system" topics out there but bear with me.

P4 2.66 GHz
760mb ddr RAM (512 stick and 256 stick)
Ati Radeon 9250 128mb PCI-e (I'm upgrading to an evga, nvidia-geforce 6600gt 128mb PCI-e)
139.7 gb total hd space

What do you guys think?

Id say med-low settings with the better gfx card. Maybe all on medium at best. Ive got a p4 3.4w/ht and an x600 and im running on med/low, but this is a laptop and i run music and other programs in background.

It won't run. The 9250 is not supported.

good job for upgrading to 6600gt but you can' use pci express with your current motherboard. you need to upgrade your motherboard too if you want to use pci-express graphics card. or just buy the non-pci express 6600gt.

If his existing Radeon 9250 is PCI-e then the motherboard must support it, so it's not a problem.

Are you sure its a PCI-e? It could be a regualr PCI, and then you are screwed.

I am pretty sure ATI would not put that card out on a PCI-e.

Yea the ati card is a pci-e. I still remember from when I got it.

reaper: I'm upgrading to a 6600gt. I've tried running the demo with my current card but obviously without luck :/

BTW, whats better? PCI-e or AGP? cuz I've heard that agp is a lot better but then again all the manufacturers seem to be moving in the direction of PCI-e cards

At the moment AGP would be the safer bet. I recently built myself a new system and stuck with AGP as PCI-E is a "new" thing and has not really proven itself to be worthy of my money yet

I have the 6600GT AGP and have no complaints

PCI-e will be the future but right at the moment there's no really difference between the two.

PCI<AGP<PCI-E

Hardly any difference at the moment but the extra bandwith plus serial connection is usefull for SLI.

I did a search, and I really don't think the 9200 comes in PCI-e. Its like a 3 year old card...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...rchInDesc=9200

http://www.google.com/search?q=9200+...en-US:official

Can I see a pic of this?
