- 80152 Pre-Tested and Setup AMD Athlon 64/FX (939) Combo
- Motherboard: 110257 - Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe nForce4 SLI Audio/GB- $173.00

Subtotal for 80152 with your selected options: $1,275.00
Isn't SLI purely PCIe based? Going on that, I would say your AGP wouldn't work with the mobo.

Grim, what's the best Mobo, CPU and Ram config I could upgrade to now purely for gaming on which I could use my AGP GF6800 GT card.

Thanks in advance.
right now, pci-express cards aren't going any faster than the agp ones. u'll agp 6800 gt is still top notch. if you don't want to throw ur 6800gt away, just get a mobo with agp support not pci express. its fine that way. u'll start get great quality with that card.

SLI is PCI-E only. Seeming as you wan't to keep your card its gonna have to be AGP.

Seeming as you only wan't it for 9months there no point in getting a FX-55. Its a waste realy.

I would advise getting:

MSI K8N Neo2.
Either a 3500 venice or 3700 san diego
2 x 1gb of corsair 2-3-3-6
A decent Antec or Enermax PSU
A very good HSF. Eg Xp-90C, Evo 33 or freezer 64

That gives you a very good overclocking setup. You should be easily able to get to 2.5ghz which is only 100mhz off a Fx-55.

That will last you easily 9months then you can get a 32pipe graphics card and M2 socket processor and mobo.

Thanks Grim! It does appear that my MOBO is fried (possibly the CPU as well) so I may have to upgrade.

If it's just the mobo I may just have it replaced and keep all the rest of my components.

We will see.

OK it's my mobo, it's fried, so I'm going to upgrade my CPU and Mobo as well, using the existing Ram I just purchased.

Here's what I've decided to get:

-Thermaltake A1772 AMD Recommended for Athlon 64 (Socket 754/939/940) (OEM) $49.00
- AMD Athlon 64 4000+ 1MB 90nm Rev. E San Diego (939) $482.00
- 2 Gig's of Corsair Xtreme PC3200 memory (already purchased this).

But I need all of your help for the Mobo I should buy that would maximize performance of this set up. I need it to support AGP, and have easy bios overclocking ability (including CPU multiplier). I'm happy to pay for the best as well, so what Mobo would you all recommend based on what I'm purchasing?

Thanks in advance.
