First thing to do is go to www.desertcombat.com and download the latest version of the mod. From there you could also look at the official Desert Combat forums to find out where to get any other maps that were not included in the official release.
Give it a shot! DC is a lot of fun, and you won't be disappointed. |

DC 0.7 is really the only file you need to download (however well over 600 MB).
After installing that (presuming you have BF 1.6) you can go play it right away. I recommend using the All seeing Eye to find a lot mor games than BFs ingame browser. DC is by far the most popular Mod for BF 1942. Not everybody loves it, but a lot of people do...

Quick Question....
I am helping my brother get set up with DC and I notice there are two files I have stumbled accross after first downloading DC 7... I see a "DCX8", which appears to be a .8 version of DC... and a DC_Final which is version ? Are these two the same? Is one official and the other a 3rd party version? Which should be used? Or is it one and then the other? Thanks guys! (also, all I need to update BF is the full 1.61 install right?) |

First of all you need to get DC 0.7 install it...then install DC Final on top of 0.7. And yes you need the 1.61 patch
DC Final is actually DC 0.8 DCX8 is DC Xtended which is a mini mod for DC that adds some crazy stuff. Worth looking at too ![]()
