It's a great mod. There is fewer vehicles, so it's more infantry based. 12% comes with I think 8 maps and they all are good. There is good cover to hide in on most maps. What is different is that there is a heavy MG class with the M60 for US and PPS41H for NVC. There is no medic class, so anti-tank class carries medpacks. Plus the US engineer carries a shotgun and the NVC engineer carries and SKS semi-auto rifle. With EoD, it's like I bought a new expansion pack! 20% should be released soon and that will be great. More goodies and napalm! I hope you download and enjoy.

EoD is superb. It's a half-way house between BF1942 and DC. Faster vehicles than the original game, but not vehicle-overloaded like DC. The infantry combat is the core of the game and it's a work of art. I love it.

DC has lost the plot. Every release is vehicles and more vehicles. Have you seen the ASE server list for that mod? 3 pages of it for Europe alone but only ever about 6 servers with the new DC maps, the rest is all Gazala, El Al, Market Garden blah blah. Sod that, I want to play new the maps built for the mod. IMO that's EoD's major advantage, it didn't add a ton of vehicles or weapons, it added a small balanced set and a good bunch of maps to go with them.
If DC doesn't switch off compatibility with the '42 maps soon I think a lot of people will stop playing. We used to play a lot but by 0.38 we were sick of replaying the '42 maps with vehicles that didn't suit them and we haven't touched the mod since, there's too much good stuff out there to even think about it. |

I agree with the above posts. I liked EOD because of the gameplay element. I just could not find any good servers!
DC is a great mod but it does need a lot more custom maps. And I love the new stuff in DC but it is not used to its full potential....people running away with a bradley that can fit in 5 people? And people who jump into Blackhawks and do not wait for people to jump in?? EOD will be great when 0.2 comes out. I cant wait.....and if you know any good servers...please tell me!! Cheers
