Good servers? your experiences

It's been a couple of days now since the mod is out and I have a gripe and some good words.

First the gripe:
can EA fix the damned in-game browser????? - especially the filters to filter out servers based on mods???? Is it sooooooo hard to do? Damnit. really eats my skin to get lumped from a server because of connection problems and only to forget which server I was on so I go looking for another one and have to update the whole damned list of BF-related servers and search manually for EoD servers.... ANNOYING!!!!!!! (I can just hear it now - use ASE .. ya fine ASE is nice, but once you're in the game it's a pain in the butt to go back to ASE when you wanna join a quick game.

Second - good words:
Like I said, only two days since it came out and there are some really good servers out there. I was on one last night can't remember which one (32 man server ... Maverick was there too) but the pings were excellent, and the ppl playing there were great too. The maps don't lag as much as DC or even some BF maps.

The better servers are not even marked as EoD servers.

Best server to-date: Eve of Destruction server (I think it's the official one). Great game play and you get a bunch of the EoD dev guys playing there.

Having said that, watch out for the "MF" clan EoD server - bunch of loonies playing there. The admins do nothing to get rid of TKers. Example> on the US side (out of 14 players) 10 of them had scores in the negative (HIGH negative scores) one guy, an "MF" clan member had a -46 score and just kept shooting whatever that moved. His reason - "f**k u n00b - Vietnam was like that. US army kept killing their own so live with it!" - whatever.

I played Fernpatch server last night. Very good game we had going, no jerks or anything!

That feature already exists in the browser, it's the button that says show all, or something like that. Just click on it and select the mod you wish to find servers for.

i think he means if u get dissconnected are the servers disappear from the browser and u cant find whcih one u were on

i can tell you a bad server... the MF clan server, they kick you if you're killing them, very unsportsmanlike...

Yeah I mentioned them in my post... stay clear of that server - it's filled with idiots all the time. Thing is they won't kick each other from the server for TK only other ppl that TK them. Like I said before there were 2 guys on that server last night from the MF clan and one of em had a -46 score and nobody would kick him, but other guys with an accidental TK - poof - you're gone.

Shock and Awe is ok sometimes, randomly dies, but once in a while, I have really good pings

I think it was the HiFi, or MiFi clan server, it rocks! They always have good admins, ahtta kick tk'ers and accept apologies. One of their members was a douche, but thats about it.

The Partners in Crime server is bad, don't ever go in it, ever.

was that you on there last night - ya it was! there were two Mavericks there - shot one and then the server crashed (I think) and I couldn't get back in there.

The new update for ASE has a filter.

Just cut and paste this in the ASE filter.txt file under the BF-mods entry....

Battlefield 1942\Mods\Eve of Destruction
JoinTemplate: {EXEPATH}[ +game {Game Id}] +restart 1 +joinServer {address} +isInternet 1[ +playerName "{NAME}"][ +password {PASSWORD}]
Group: BFMODS
Mutex: BFMODS
1 if Game\ Id ~!= "EOD" remove

I did this and it works great. got the infro from another fourm. Make sure you put a check in the eod box and a check in the box marked other.
I usually see about 80 to 90 servers running the eod mod.

I've been playing on the 32 man Warsaw Clan EoD server alot lately. The people are fairly decent and I haven't seen any massive TKing (you'll always get the odd idiot). I'm really starting to love this mod.
