Is it worth it?

Is DC worth it? I mean is it better than BF1942? I heard it was, but who knows? Also I have a few question....is the jets single man, meaning can the pilot fire the guns and missiles? Could you tell me what is the best plane for attacking ground units and helicopters? Can you lokc onto targets with planes ext? And how many megs is the mod? Thanks!

are you kidding??? this the probably the BEST mod that has come out for anygame ever!! I'm sure theres a couple people that disagree, and everyone is entitled to thier opinion, but this mod is just amazing and you definitly need to try it out.

With jets you can't lock onto to targets, but you can fire both missles and bullets. The mod is over 100MB. There are so many vehicles with differnt purposes. The A-10 devastates groud units with its cluster bombs and can obliterate tanks with its insane minigun. The ground artillery tanks are great for ground units as well. Helicopters can be a nuisance but can be destroyed by infantrys Stinger missles or a well places tank shell.

You definitly need to check this mod out. It's definitly a great experiance.

You = fucked if any helicopter is within a quarter mile of you. Other than that, and the horrendous loading time (for me, at least), I love it... whenever I can get a jet. I'm not the one crashing them into the back of the hangars and enemy choppers.

DC is proll'y the BEST FPS game out there right now, and it's a FREE mod!
that being said, it is a horrific bitch of frame/poly lag.
so if you wanna play it, you better have one hoss' of a machine.
depends on the server too, but yeah you should definately try it out.

DC is awesome. It's a pure work of art that plays with some incredible gameplay. The only thing on the horizon looking like it'll stop me playing it a while is Half-Life 2.

Let's face it, what do you have to lose other than a few hours downloading it and trying it out?

What Walmart said, but for me it loads very fast, and don't get poly/texture lag. I don't even play regular BF anymore.

If theres a helo near me its fucked! forget stingers, RPG all the way!

I'll try that out, because like I said in the chopper thread, 3 stingers to the engine did absolutely nothing to save my ass from being perforated.

Stingers should be under powered, helos are fire magnets as it is already, but lets not start that arguement up again.

DC is most defiantly worth a try if you are a little tired of normal BF. It has a whole bunch of modern warfare vehicles and can be a bunch of fun.
It´s a very vehicle focused mod. You normally get less Infantry combat then in BF. But therefor it has choppers (hard to get used to at first) and super fast jets (across El Alamein in 8 sec).

The MOD is however about 260 megs (version, 0.35) and version 0.4 will be out soon. So if you don´t have broadband, you might wan´t to wait till 0.4 has been released. Because they only offer full installs and no updates. There are also quite a lot of custom maps out there already, some based on the second Iraq war.

Not in the hands of a good pilot. Sure if you hover over a hot LZ then you get smacked down.

realistically, stingers should take out a chopper in one hit. But if that happened noone would dare to fly choppers. would be too easy to kill. i think it's ok

I would just be happy if the AC130 wasn't so strong. In fact I am quit happy with the stinger/chopper roles. A good shot to the motor can rip one down, especially when warmed up by heavy assault. RPG is better but need to be closer. Those far hits are few and inbetween.

I like how it is now, I dont use stingers unless I see black smoke coming out of a helo. sure RPGs are a little

harder to aim but they got some serious take down power. play lost village and just hind on a roof taking down blackhawks. AH the power of cheese. :P

I think a direct hit with a stinger should kill any airborne vehicle (except the big plane). It´s not much different than the RPG, and that killed with 1 hit aswell. If Stingers would be homing, that might be a little unfair, but as long as they just fly straight, they should be more be just a lethal as the RPG.

I think the Helos are great, I use the mouse and keyboard to fly and have not yet perfected it, so I tend to get in the way of some un-happy iraqi's shooting at me all the time. I think the helos are too easy too shoot down though, I know it is not realistic but I think it should take at least 2 stingers too bring one down.

Yeah i shot 3 stinger at an ah64 and it did jackall. it hit hte rotars though so maybe u need direct body hits. Rpg are awsome 4 taking out choppers if u can hit them. Lastnight I took out a black hawk in 1 shot from 1
