Default News on BG42 for Battlefield:Vietnam

I'd have posted in the BG42 only forum, but thought it'd be better to post here because some folks in the community may not know that Battlegroup42 is moving toward their BG42 WWII release for BF:V

You can find our news update at http://www.battlegroup42.com with lots of screenshots! Enjoy!

Hey, Strummer! Good to see you around!

And CRAP - this means that I may actually have to reinstall BFV. That's mostly been gathering dust because of the dearth of good (Read: WW2; no offense to PoE, it's a cool mod but not my cuppa) mods...

Plus the fact that BFV just about overloads my poor ol' PC... :/

I was browsing around the site, forgot how much I liked BG42. The forum links seem to be broken, got to look around for 1.1. I never downloaded it!

I'll be addressing the website links as soon as I am able to get to it. As is, expect a regular news stream from the development team. We're focusing on BF:V because "we" (before I had been asked to join as PR staff) had started creating BG42 for BF:V over a year ago. In fact, the teams resources became divided and, arguably, both mods suffered for it.

BG42 on BF:1942 will continue: there is a 1.1.1 update due out real soon now and MOB has taken over administration of the mod and plans to release plenty of new maps.

We really want to get the WWII BG42 gameplay out on BF:V and are close to beta testing stage. Even with BF:2 due out in June, we think we'll be able to get one solid release - maybe two and then see where things are going with BF:2.

BTW: I found on EA's tech support board some excellent advice on getting FPS up in BF:V and it worked wonders on my system (1GB RAM, 2.6Ghz P4, 128mb GeForce4) which was seeing <25 fps before the tweaks. In your
settings file, up your default.con Game.soundbuffersize to 8192 and in your videodefaults.con change renderer.allowallrefreshrates to 1. Also, quit any and all processes that don't have to be running and you'll probably be as surprised as I was with the performance of the engine. Hopefully BG42 on BF:V makes it all worthwhile!
