BF Viet Nam Runs so Jerky

Hi I'm running BF Vietnam on a 2.4 GHz Celeron CPU with a video card GeForce 5200 with 256 MB memory. I have BF 1942 and it runs fine but BF Vietnam runs terribly jerky even with graphics setting set to lowest. I have the latest updates installed. I also installed the WWII mod. Would that affect it?

its probably to do with your video card being a pieac of shit.

IIRC bfv need at least a geforce 3 to run lowest res with low detais, your card is around that level.

Set you res to 640x480 16bit colour lowest deatils on every thing and stay of big servers adn you might get decent frame rate.

I found a great tip on the Planet Battlefield Forums on improving your BF:V performance.

Basically, with the latest Audio and Video Drivers and a default (for me 800x600 at medium texture levels) graphic settings, add these lines:

The only other thing I've done is to quit all user tasks except taskmgr.exe and explorer.exe from my task manager (do not quit any system tasks!)

I'm gonna give this a work out before I 100% endorse it as a "fix" but it has made the game improve 200% from inital gameplay after making the changes. Anyone else who gives these tweaks a go, please post here with your results.

But I must agree, your system blows !

The celeron is ment for office computers and its design makes it slower than a Pentium with 1000 Mhz less.

And your GPU is a piece of crap aswell.

BFV is really meant for 512 DDR-RAM.

I had the Geforce FX5200 and confirm - it's no good. Got me a new radeon 9800 pro and it runs beautifully, well it will once I get some more ram

Nam was a piece of shit. I hope that BF-2 runs a whole lot better for all of you that buy it...I will wait for some BF Nation reviews before I take the BF-2 plunge
