Default ATI 9800 Pro problem with BFV

Ok everything was fine when I had a Gforce 4-ti4600 card, but I just recently got a ATI 9800 Pro (XT core).

Well anyway, now when I go into BFV, after like 10 seconds it jumps right to the "Instant Battle" menu. So I can't get into a game or even change my settings with that menu constantly coming up.

Since SP2 for WinXP came out, I wanted to reformat and reinstall everything. So now my system is back up and running, but BFV is STILL doing the same thing.

I haven't heard of anyone else having that problem, and I am definately NOT a novice at computers. It has me stumped.

I am using the Cat 4.8 beta drivers. I had a different problem in Spiderman 2 locking up shortly after playing the game.

I am really starting to regret buying an ATI card. It was definately against my better judgement, but insead of just buying a newer Nvidia card I figured I'd try out ATI. BIG mistake. Never had problems in the many years I've owned Nvidia cards.

Any Clues?

I have an Sapphire 9800 Pro, and I'm not having these problems. My Guess is, that this probably isn't the cards fault. I also got the cat 4.8.
On a side note, when I had installed SP2, BF42 crashed right upon clicking the desktop-icon - rebooted my PC. Deinstalled SP2 - Working again. What a ServicePack is that supposed to be?

My System
ASUS A7N8X (PCB Rev2) Bios 1010 - latest nforce Drivers
AMD Athlon XP 2400+
512 MB Infineon RAM CL2.5 PC333
Sapphire 9800 Pro 128MB + Cat4.8 w/o SmartGART
Creative Labs Soundblaster 5.1 Digital
Windows XP SP1

Hmmm, this sounds really strange. Have you tried reinstalling the game? Try that, if that doesn't work, I'm not sure yet. But I don't believe it's your card because I have the same card. And, well, it doesn't happen to me...
