Default Anyone using traps and mines?

I'm hardly seeing anyone making much use of the bouncing betties, claymores or even the staple of '42 - the mine, in BFV. My own view on them is that it's way too easy to TK with them, especially on public servers. Is anybody at all finding them useful?

i am, i love those claymores, the c4 rocks if you know the most traveled routes, and punji sticks, makes a great "jail", i can put them in the entrance to a bunker and anyone who spawns in there cant get out

if you know the traveling routes well and are good at sneaking around then all the traps and mines are great, im just having trouble finding a lag free server that i can cause tons of mahaem on

Ive seen them used with good cause. I've been killed by several, and have seen ppl use them very well. Keep trying.

its very useful at times, but its true that its really easy to tk with those kind of weapon. things like pungi sticks can easily kill your own teammates if theyre not careful. i found the bouncing betties to be the most useful, cause its damage is great on infantry and its easily concealed. its great in jungle wars.

It would help with the TKs if there were a warning icon for pungi sticks and caltrops from your own team. Similar to those for the mines your teammates lay.

That was only from 1.5 or 1.6 I think. BFv doesn't have that yet (hopefully the patch will add it). But, yeah, that would be good.

good call, i forgot about that warning sign in bf. that would be a good addition in future patches. also, i don't know whats bfv doing. i mean all the functions in bf like easy map voting and such additions in original bf should have been with the bfv. i guess they are just lazy or something.

the thing that pisses me off is the bouncing bettys, they do not go where you place them, and by that i mean that when i place on down it wont be there, it will be 5 or more feet away from me to the side or behind me, and its really annoying when you are trying to place them in a doorway, if you set it down in the middle then it will be off in the corner of the door, its really annoying

and the reason that none of the stuff from the 1.5 and 1.6 patches are in this game is because this game had the main contents developed before the 1.5 and 1.6 patches came out, and since EA is a bitch publisher, Dice had no time to include the 1.5 and 1.6 stuff because EA wanted the game out asap

traps work fine for me, i have no problem with them at all, the problem i seem to find is not with them but in stupid team mates, who after you inform them twice about the possition of a trap still walk over it, die, then starting calling you a tker. It seems to take the fun out of it. :/

I too use traps but my gripe is that they take to long to deploy. I always find my self having to be a ways from to front line to deploy what ever trap i am using to its full potential. but then no onw comes that way. If i could lay down the Bouncing betties faster i could use them alittle more effectively
