Well, I´m not sure if the freshest ATI drivers fix any of the issues, but upgrading never harms.

the problem hasnt been resolved in this release


But ATI has an infobase item on the BFV issue:

It is funny in the release notes to the Cat 4.4 they have this:

Enabling AF to 8x and running the game Battlefield Vietnam with the graphics set to high and the display set to 1280x1024 32bpp results in display corruption being seen at a certain point of the game. Further information on this issue can be found at: www.ati.com/support/infobase/4500.html

This statement makes it sound like if you use other resolutions, you will not have any problems but I know at 1024x768 with my 9800XT I see a lot of pixelation in the player models, trees, etc. One plus is that I do not get the flashing or missing textures, so at least they are making progress.
