A PBF community member has found a sulution for some lag issues in BF: Vietnam. This file is not official, downlaod at own risk !
Unofficial LagFix 9 Comments 11:15 PST | -1313-Evil_Homer A community member has submitted a little patch that he claims fixes some lag issues a few users are experiencing in BFV. I have tested it and noticed no real difference, but then again, I did not have much lag in the first place. But a number of community members express this patch does have a positive effect in some cases. I personally still have doubts if this patch even works but figured I would make it available to anyone willing to try it. Just make sure you are comfortable with this sort of tinkering. This patch adds the line, Game.soundbuffersize 400, inside the /settings/default.com file: Download Now (500KB) *Download and install at your own risk! http://www.fileplanet.com/dl.aspx?/p...nam_lagfix.exe

im sure someone has got to scan it for some sort of virus or trojan that would steal a cd key...so the fact that fileplanet is hosting it makes me think its safe...but 500k to add 1 line is wierd.

All it does (and you can do it yourself without downloading anything) is adds a line of text that says something like "increase sound buffer 4000 1"
Because this engine always has sound problems affecting lag, i think it increases the sound flow from the default. Give it a go. If it wreaks your game, simply go back in and delete the line of text. Simple.

I have this line and my game runs amazing.
I used to have those texture tearing problems, but putting AA and AF to OFF and restarting cleared it all up. The game runs as smooth as Call Of duty. What i have found though, is that now my forgotten hope is lagging and having connection problems. Its like my computer evolved and now doesnt like the older stuff.

i got this from the bf nam site. ea games place. said to add this to a file.
go to your mod file under ea games/battlefield vietnam in c drive. open the mod file. then open the bfvietnam file. open settings. find default.con file and use wordpad to open it. add this line under the rest of the lines and then save it. Add game.soundbuffersize 400 thats what ea games site said to add. heres the link also if you wanna check for yourself. http://eatech.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/e...?p_faqid=13454 might be easier than dloading 500kb prog to install the line. have fun. hope it helps ![]() |
