I never said I thought Bush was highly intelligent. But IMHO common sense goes a long way in picking leaders.

Also I am not trying (like other American's I admit) to say that that US is the shiny beacon above all other countries. Do we have things to be proud of. Of course. Do we have some black marks. Duh! What country doesn't. Well....perhaps Luxembourg.

Also...to finish out this fun convo (damn the towing man!), I think it's fine to criticize the US and it's actions provided that you have a bit of perspective. Europeans should be careful about throwing stones in glass houses. We are talking about countries that meddled in world affairs for 400 years, caused many of today’s problems, and are now the ones who have all the answers?? I don't think so. This would kind of be like China criticizing the US for human rights violations (which they probably do).

You people are so touchy. I just don't like the American movie talk about finest calling and such... just my opinion. Who was talking about bashing Americans??? Don't take everything so personal. Btw the WW2 argument is soooo cheesy. But most europeans are still very gratefull to all countries which helped liberating Europe in WW2. The city of Groningen was liberated by the Canadians in WW2. Such a nice city and I'm living there. Any Canadian visiting Groningen can get a beer from me...hell anyone from this forum can get a beer from me when visiting Groningen.

Sorry just had to clarify my first post in this thread. I know it is offtopic.

Christ! I cannot believe what I'm seeing here. All I wanted to know was how to tow some arty. Then I just wanted to provide a young troop a little motivation from my own experience and my family's extremely distinguished history of service. Just to set you straight on my bona fides, I served in Grenada, Panama, and the Gulf War. I was decorated for valor in two of them. I finally took a round in Iraq, which earned me a purple heart. I have more metal holding my spine together than you have in your thankless Euro crap car. Let's not forget the piece of shrapnel that I still carry around in my chest that I have the explain every time I go to the airport. But every morning I grit my teeth, peel myself out of bed, and run my own business. Reading the thread that followed my short remarks, its easy to see why any and all words of support and encouragement are needed for our troops who daily put their very lives on the line to fight the good fight for people back home, even if some of those people are the most craven of cowards. I can't remember the last time I have seen such a load of whining, sniveling, short sighted, crap. A soldier's job is to do what he is told. When his face is in the dirt and the guy who used to sleep two racks over from him is dead, he doesn't have the luxury of your pathetic Monday morning quarterback stategic critique. His job and natural drive is to kill whoever is trying to kill him. If you are so against war and violence, why are you even playing this kind of game? I'll tell you why. It's because you don't carry the gear to do the real job. It would be very beneficial if you at least supported the men and WOMEN who have the balls you don't. I expect in this century the U.S. will be asked yet again to help Europe extricate itself from yet another occupation, this time by the Islamic Reich. Just look around you. Watch the news. The "Enemy Within" or "5th Column" or whatever you want to call it is already bubbling up. I don't expect that it will be worth one single drop of American blood. You people have struck rock bottom and continued to dig. The only thing we should do is collect up all the sniveling, bed wetting, self hating Americans, strap them to pallets and randomly LAPES them into France/Holland (same thing) where they will be more at home. Maybe it would be better if we just pulled our troops out of Iraq right now so that in 5-7-10 years this thing will be settled on the streets of Amsterdam or Groningen or Paris. 'nough said. I'm out.

[flame]Well, thats what you think. Nobody asked you to start the last war and about the European conflicts in the last centuary: You guys just go join other wars, because you need a brawl once in a while, and you booring old plot of land dosn´t satisfy you.
And even if you are asked to help Europeans fight Europeans, then you always turned up late. [/flame]

And why am I not suprised to hear such a thing from someone living is Austin, TEXAS ! You guys just proove your bad reputation again and again...

Maybe he was referring primarily to Pugeot?

Of course even the Brits make fun of their cars. And the Italians...oh hell the only good euro cars come from Germany right?

What do I know. I drive a Honda. Made in the USA. hehe

Coss the rest of the thread was mainly about Americans involvement in WWII and corny American speak.

No Ill tell you why, coss its fun and if u hadnt noticed, its not real life.

Do all vets feel the same way in America? Like they fought for nothing, and that people dont respect them for what they did? There is the whole vietnam thing, where people went to fight and the country wasnt behind them.

I never would have thought that would have been the same for Gulf war vets though. Coss they went in there to liberate a country.

Well all I can say is that I'm glad it's people like him that are over there in Iraq fighting right now. All the people that think for themselves are back in the states realizing what a fool Bush is while people like Cricket are over there "to do what they're told."

Bush: Go find those WMD's soldier!

Dumbass soldier: Yessir, whatever you say sir!

Public/civilians: WTF there are none you idiot. Even more importantly you just showed the world what a fucking idiot the US is for electing such a dumbass president who ignores allies and launches wars for reasons that weren't even proved.

You are an idiot and also (probably) a coward. If you don't have the cajones to do what needs to be done, at the very least you can have a little respect for those who are over there putting their lives on the line to do it. Human trash like yourself can just sit over here and rot. I could say more but, you aren't worth the time or effort.

While I like the dishing out you gave him, I must concur alot of us are blind to what is really happening and ignorance to the rest of the world is America's greatest downfall.
