Snipers need silencers/suppressors

I just did a little checking an apparenlty snipers in Vietnam had "suppressor" attachments that acted as silencers. No sound beyond 75 yards.

Now that might be cool. Of course only US forces should have them.

Hmm... Aren't the guns allready suppressed or something? I don't know for others, but I rarely hear any gunshots unless the person firing is within 100 meters or so. However, I often hear the bullets whistling around my head and the impacts on nearby obstacles... not a pleasant situation when you don't know where the shots are fired from. But it might just be my sounds screwed or something.

no, it's nbot your sound, the guns can be pretty damned quiet... it can be impossible to see those damned VC when they hide in the grass...

you cant hear sniper fire from a distance, i just listen to where the bullets are comming from (hurray for surround sound) then face that direction run around and wait for the sniper to fire again so i can see the muzzle flash

It doesn't really gona make any big difference in the game. Its just a silencer. This is war we are talking about, not rainbow 6 pussies silencer.

A birdcage on the barrel for the muzzle flash would be a lot more useful.

I think you can only use certain ammunition with silencers too -- likely not large caliber, high velocity rounds.

hey man if BF bots or players (n00bs) would even have half the brain of a R6 bot this game would be impossible for most people
