Default New 1.15 patch!

Quote:
EA games forum, posted by [eA}SmacktardSquarepants

Dear noobs,

As I am sure many of you are aware, there have been a number of issues with the DICE/EA mad haxored release version of Battlefield:Vietnam.

We are currently undertaking final testing on a patch for the product, which will be released this Friday (3-26), and will include the following fixes that have been suggested by the noobs :

* Cool like voting shit. You can yell into you mic no matter if it is attached to you pc or not, and if you say "-=NC=-Lego" "hax" "cheator" The player will be kicked from the server, all other servers will have his cdkey added to their ban list, and he will forced to complain in the EA forum.

* The M60 (US) machine gun will only be useable while the player is jumping. Also the Law weapon has been switched to sniper class. The M40 now includes the M60s RoF.

* It has been noted that "vehicle camping" is a problem within the online community for Battlefield:Vietnam. Therefore, in our first patch for the product, players who tried to get in a vehicle will be shot. If you hit E anywhere in the server, Hired Smacktards will come and TK you from the offical EA plane of doom.

* Fixes to the ATI graphics cards that have suffered problems. All ATi users are forced to use 640x480 openGL mode. Nvidia "the way its meant to be played logo" will flash periodically during games (IE, when player fires, when player presses 'w'). NVA team has been changed to Nvidia Dawn Fairy.

* It has become apparent that several of the sound (gunfire/explosions) effects are not to many people's likings. Fuck you whores.

A number of other minor fixes (WE GOTZ THE DETPACKS OUT CUZ WE KNOW YOU LIEKZ TEHM!) will also be implemented, and we will be releasing another patch in the not too distant future due to the fact we prolly fucked this one up too.
Keep them coming please, and we can make this game the top game of aw fuck it, go buy UT2k4.

Yours kindly,
BFVlamer

lol, superb patch, when's it out?
I've relegated BFV to the bottom of the game pile along with Halo and Deus ex:invisible war (yes, I'm a sucker for hype, but I've learnt my lesson now) and bought UT2004, superbly made, very polished and runs like a dream. I mean any game that makes the bots understand voice commands is a winner in my opinion. (I just wish the human players online were as intelligent)

See there's a guy in an Aussie clan called Montgomery Burns and he's so, well *not* Monty Burns. But Urseus on the other hand.... That's why the Bender avatar always confused me.

Oh man, I so agree UT2004 is alot more polished than BFV, BFV is still fun though. However, not up to UT2004 caliber.

Have you had fun training the bots to use different voice commands yet?
Mine use "follow me", "watch my back" and "help" as replacements to "cover me", "(oi,)you lot", "bots" and "bunch of muppets" instead of "team/everyone/everybody", and "go away", "fuck off" instead of "freelance"
Also if you change "gimme" to "i need a gun" it stops them confusing "gimme" with "cover me" and why say "dance" when you can say "boogie" or "status" when you can say "whatcha up to?"

It seems a shame really though considering I'll probably never play with them again, but it was fun at the time.

Yes UT2004. BFV bots still have to learn the concept of "teamplay", "reinforcements", and "friendly fire" so we can't really expect them to understand voice commands can we?

Yeah too true, and especially when you hitch a ride in a friendly chopper knowing full well as soon as the bot reaches his destination he's gonna bail without telling you, leaving you to plummet to your death unawares.

Just like when you are playing with real humans at the controls... seems like Dice really went for the realisim for the Bots this time.

patch ? pfft. the ONLY thing this game needs is medpacks on every map and the m60 in the soldier class with the LAW dude getting m14.

the rest of the game is perfect. and runs flawlessly on my ATI based machine. the guy who likened this one to halo needs reverse his cranialcolonoscopy.
