Once you have made sure your computer meets the minimum requirements for the game, please follow these Performance Tips
If the game is still running poorly it may be necessary to adjust video and in game options: VIDEO SETTINGS - Systems with 256MB of RAM should always run the game with video and sound settings set to "LOW". - From the Main Menu choose the "Options" menu. Then, select the "Video" menu, select "Texture Quality" and experiment with the slider in order to find the best setting for your computer. You can also try lowering the "Graphics Quality" in order to optimize for your machine's level of performance. - Also from the "Video" menu, uncheck the "SHADOWS" check box. This will prevent the game from creating dynamic shadows for soldiers and vehicles and can improve performance. - Also from the "Video" menu, uncheck the "LIGHTMAPS" check box. This will prevent the game from adding detailed shadows on the buildings, which can improve your performance. - Try reducing your video resolution to 640x480 in your "Video" menu. The lower the resolution, the easier it is for your computer to run the game. - From the "Video" menu you can lower your color depth from 32 to 16 bit by picking your desired resolution with the color depth of 16 (800x600x16). GAMEPLAY SETTINGS - Turning the NUMBER OF BOTS slider down will improve performance in the single-player maps. Experiment with the setting which best suits your computer. IN GAME - By always keeping your command interface hidden (toggle with F8) you can improve your performance while playing. This change will most be most noticeable on low end systems. The 640x480 made me laugh. There are people with 3 Ghz and 9800XT who have a gig of ram. The video is choppy. Like they are going to play in 640x480. Don't these people who make the game play the game?

No kidding, lots of ppl are missing the point totally. I invested lots of cash over time to play HL2, Doom3, BFV the way they are supposed to be played. I am at 1024 right now and that is pissing me off. I refuse to even drop down to 800x600.

^^What 420 says.
I'm not even all about great graphics and stuff- I've only got a 9600se. But with my comp (2.2Ghz Athlon, 768DDR, 128mg9600) I SHOULD be able to run BFV fine, even on some of the mid-range settings. But the only way I could get it to come close to any kind of consistent quality was to dumb EVERYTHING down (graphics quality, texture quality, resolution, everything...). And even then, I only got sort-of halfway-decent performance. I REALLY feel for the people like 420 and some of you, who have really nice, high end systems- and are being told to run at 640x480. Wow... ![]()

Actually, this is an area where I'm sort of confused... The problems I'm having do NOT appear to be the graphic issues 420 has mentioned; again, since I have everything set low already, I wouldn't notice some pixelation or rought edges.
My performance issues seem to be more related to poor netcode maybe? I do have an ATI card, but my shit's just lagging out, playing all choppy and jerky about half the time. Dosne't seem like a video card problem? Dunno... ![]()

I am a ATI 9800 owner
This is what I have tried. Running the game a 1024 x 768 Everything HIGH... FPS jumps all around I go from 120 FPS to .3 This is flying in a straight line. 1024 x 768 Everything Medium Sound: EAX Voice: 64 Same results 1024 x 768 Everything Low Sound: 2D Voice 32 Same Results Removed Audigy from my computer and ran onboard Sound Storm... I ran all configurations again with the same results. I improved my performance a little with Rage3d tweak. ABIT AN7 2 x 256 PC3500 HyperX Dual Channel Audigy MP3 2100+XP o/c to 2.2 ghz. 2 GB swap file (just added to see if that would help)

yeah this is shizznit
i realize my machine isn't that great, but the least they could do was be honest in the requirements. I have athlon xp 2600+ (2.13 ghz), 768 mb pc2100 ddr ram, GeForce FX5200 Ultra 128 mb I would at first conclude that my system sucks and i just need to upgrade, but after seeing so many people that have high end systems and video cards still get the performance of a constipated ass, i don't think i'll waste any money upgrading on the count of this game. |

Well ive fixed my choppyness. I switched from my soundcard to my onboard card and it seems to work alot better. Less pops and cracks and feels alot smoother. You can enjoy the game alot more when it actually works ok.
I look forward to someone converting BF to BF:V. Is there a team working on this yet?
