The RPD kit is much closer to how the MG kit should be while the M60 kit is a complete aberration. |

1. Tank shells seem to have little killing effect even when detonating right next to the enemy. In BF1942 you hit near them and they die. Which seems about right. On numerous occasions during my first night of play I had to really pound someone repeatidly to kill them. And of course by then someone would sneak around and kill me with an RPG shot. One ussually did it so I assume they were shooting me in the ass.
2. DON'T GET IN THAT CHOPPER! Good chopper pilots are pretty rare in this early stage of the game. My guess is that the good ones have been playing a lot of EOD or flying choppers in other games. But even the ones that fly right didn't seem to understand the A-B idea of mobile cavalry. You pickup troops...you move the troops to the battlezone (or right outside it) and repeat. You don't fly over the enemy stronghold and get shot down killing EVERYONE onboard!! ![]() That's about it so far. I actually liked it for the most part. I will still play Vanilla BF though as I prefer WWII to VN. Jim

And besides I agree with you're "why change something that works." What I expected when I bought BF:V was pretty much BF:42 with jungle maps and a few new features. That seems like what they tried to do too, but it seems like they took a step backwards too. I thought they said they improved the code from the BF:42 engine and used it as the BF:V engine so I said well thats alright with me, but in reality we are left with a horribly buggy engine all over again...in a few patches I expect it to be more like what I was expecting to have already.

I'm picking up BFV this Wed. along with Far Cry.
You'll no doubt be hearing from me about BFN a few days after that. I'm going into BFV with the attitude of an expansion pak, tho an expensive one. It's probably about time someone posted a topic what the first patch should address. Ppl will no doubt turn it into a wish list tho. The first patch will mainly address major issues, untill DICE gets feedback. DICE didn't do game balance type adjustments with BF1942 untill well after the first couple of patches. |
