Cant install BFV. CD Problems?

I got my copy of Battlefield Vietnam yesterday. I tried to install, but kept getting errors at the part where you select what you want to install. You click the next button to begin installing, and it just sits there. After about 20 seconds, I get an error saying that I am missing files in the eReg directory.

I checked the directory on the CD and all the files seem to be there. I have Cleaned the CD with a lense cleaner, and even changed out the CD Rom drive for another that I had. I still get the same problem. I tried copying the CD to my hard drive and installing from there, but I get t he same thing.

Anyone else having this issue, if so, how are you able to fix it?

All these troubles and bugs with BF: Vietnam, I´m rather getting off the idea of buying it...

Yeah I know what u mean Dick. It doesnt seam to run well and i think ill probably enjoy FH more.

Yep I think my copy is going back to EB. Mabey I can get them to trade it for Unreal Tourn. 04. At least it is playable. Besides, I dont like messing with my video card settings just to play a game. (Radion 9800).

Its too bad, I was addicted to BF42, and really wanted to play this game.

Dont be discouraged, most of the time i get a super smooth and action packed game. Its just occasionally that i get problems.

For the poster: The only thing ive found to fix problems with the disk is to swap the CD drives. But seeing as youve done this, my suggestion is seriously to return the CD for a new one. This might seem strange but i had this kind of problem with the game Mafia. Aparently a few of the disks were pressed with slightly bugged cab files, and when i got a new disk it installed completly fine.

Give it a shot.

Yep that was it. I got a bad disk 1. The replacement disk worked great. The guy at EB games let me exchange it.

i had some problems with mine to, not getting past splash screen and then installing/uninstalling once u get it working its one badass game,
the copters are easier to fly and the ho chi min trail map has a log u can shoot and 3 spiked tree logs fall and can blow shit up
