Default Lag fix

this lag that everyone is having can be fixed by changing your sound settings from EAX to miles, i know it sucks because that takes away your surround sound but its the only way to fix this lag
hopefully EA will release a patch soon to fix all the lag issues and the ATI card issues

EA_one_eye posted that the sound fix doesnt work.

But what he told me does. Use aa but turn off af, that gets rid of the anomolies. Now to get the af working and framerates back to bf42 play.

Can you ask One eye why it is that this game has the same problems which they fixed and patched in regular battlefield ie: Console entered vote system and Sound causing lag problems.

I was wondering the same thing, but I concluded among myself that the code for BF:V was written (somewhat) before the problems were fixed. That and that BF:V was made my DICE Canada, and BF:42 was not.

I wonder what the original team is doing? Resting comfortably on their laurels proabaly. Not that they don't deserve to.

I tried all this stuff with mixed success. At some times on some servers, the game would get really jerky and laggy to the point of being almost unplayable. Then at other times, it ran more or less fine. I tried the soundbuffer thing, i tried experimenting with different settings...

Still got entirely mixed results.

Meh.

It's fun, but I'm certainly not as immediately impressed as I was when first playing bf42.

me neither tuco.; I think its lame. I remember playing BF on the day it came out and was in awe. Still am on many nights I play the maps with people. Veitnam just irritated me. I couldn't get past the damn lagginess and the damn wpns. The m60 blows my prick. I hate that god awful wpn. What were the devs thinking?? Stand up shooting it??? Rest on the laurels they did and suckered me for 40 bucks and two hours. Hounds from hell.

I'm not a fan of Veitnam, and couldnt wait to get back to reg.

Yeah, there's a ton of those little things that were fixed in bf1942, but still exist in bf vietnam. For example if you press tab in bf42 you can see the server name and ip address in the bottom of the screen, now in vietnam you can't. Not a big problem, but anyway it is annoying when you're trying to get on the same server as your friend, but he doesn't remember the server name...

Is this ATI specific, or is it a general workaround for any graphics card?

odd thing is, when i have EAX3 on and i make my own server with 64 bots and set their intelect at 75% i have no lag issues, its just online, im guessing its something to do with the netcode not agreeing with the sound?
