Default the only bad thing about BF:V (GAB's perspective)

The only thing i don't like about this game is the m60 kit for the americans. I have almost never seen a soldier carry the m16. THe staple of the US army. Most people don't need to carry the m16 with a overpowered m60 kit available. Ok ok the m16 gets gernades, but with one of the m60 layouts you get the gernade laucher which is just as good. Its no fun when every amerian ingame uses the m60. I see the m60 being this spam gun, you just run full speed firing this gun from the shoulder like it was a bb gun. Right now there is no incentive in wielding the m16.

The changes i would like to see is, the m60 not being aso ccurate when standing, and have the accurace be extremely horrible when moving, or move the "LAW" and "thumper" to the M16 kit. So if someone wants to do a full charge with the m60 firing all 100 rounds, they will aleast not be able to also have the secondary weapons also. or even better would be both. I alway think about the Weight that poor ameriacn grunt most have to indure....

Right now in the jungle, a battle is 16 well rounded sneaky VC (good ratios of different kits)vs 16 supermen with superhero strengh, carrying 300 rounds of ammo, a M60, and either a LAW or Blooper.........I want more variaty with the US forces, but why when you can be Superman with the M60.

But other than this I love the game.....it has a great battle speed. Its plays faster than 1942, but slower than DC. ITs the Perfect mix.

He's right. I'm not a fan. All I have seen on many maps, is m60 mofos shooting standing up with way too much accuracy. With the foilage this makes it an m60 camp map, way too much like the pkm used to be for DC. I am not a fan thus far. The m60 is overdone, and needs a rehaul. Plus the teams so far are way to unbalanced. Call me crazy, but I agree and I see this being a detriment.

I see it as slower play than BF though. Is more one hit wonders like FH.

You're crazy.

Just kidding. BFV is more along the lines of SW or RTR. It has enough eye candy to keep one entertained for a while, but at this point, I just don't think it beats the original. Cool new grahics and refined engine make it a good addition for the hardcore BF fan, but that's about it.

Oh yea, the in game browser blows (not that many of you guys use it) and the radio buttons kinda suck now too.

RV in the options go to profile and click the extended radio cmmands button, youll be pleased
but there is no medic, or get in
i agree the m60 acuraccy needs to be decreased when standing/running, most of the time when i get shot by an m60 its some guy running at me firing it, maybe im wrong but in rl would he be blown backwards by the kickback if he was running/standing and firing?
its true the m60 plus rocket launcher/grenade launcer may seem unfair, but the NVA get the semi auto but for their anti tank weapons they get a powerful rpg(more powerful then the americans, with greater range and less drop) and a homing rocket launcher for those pesky copters

im not sure so this is a question not a fact...but weren't m60's used pretty much just as cover fire weapons? I wish there were a way to find out how many vietnamese were killed by m60's because I thought m60 gunners job was just to make sure charlie is forced to keep their head down while the other guys (with m16) did the killing actual aiming - shooting - killing.

the m60 was the cover fire weapon, there were not platoons of guys running around with m60s shooting at everything when they were running throught the jungle, they would have broken their arms in 5 min

Its a game, we dont see a heuy lifting a tank thats fire at ground troops in real life either. DC has the PMK. Theres not that many people that use assualt.

yea so there would be like 1 or 2 guys in a squad of like 15 that actually had the m60.

I think there should be a limit to how many people can have m60's kind of like they do with weapon limits in America's Army. I realize this isn't a sim and its all about havin fun but how fun is it for the NVA when US guys are carrying a extremely accurate m60 and LAW

Not really. In real life you'd be extremely innaccurate after your first shot if you're standing but if you crouched you'd get pretty good aim if you fired in short bursts. The M60 really doesn't have that much kick. The M16 probably has more because it's lighter.

I do think it needs to be toned down though. I don't think it's an overpowering class too much, it's just that waaay too many people are going to use it. It's like the BAR in BF1942. When BF1942 first came out for about 6-10 months everyone used the machine guns for assaulting. Eventually I came to like the Thompson and got used to it and I find it better then the machine guns (which I rarely use at all now).

have you guys noticed how the snipers seem a lil less accurate? ala the m16 with scope, but the other american sniper is fairly good. Both of the vietmenese(SP) seem accurate though.

I agree 100%. I think it needs to be less accurate and a slower RPM

Uh... I don't know if increasing sniper accuracy/power would be a good idea. With their ability to shoot targets beyond visibility range, all you have to do is find a sweep spot and practice head shots... not get a bigger gun. Yeah, some maps might not be good for long range sniping because of all the vegetation... just pick another kit.

In the game, you have 5 sniper rifles: M16-Scoped (semi auto, 20 shots... but a pansy excuse for a sniper rifle), M21 (semi auto, 10 shots(?)), M40 (bolt action, 5 shots), Mosin-Nagant (spl) (Bolt action, 5 shots) and the SVD (semi auto, 10 shots). I've found the bolt actions quite adequate for long sniping while the semi automatic ones offer you a better chance of survival if a target pops up closer to you. But I'm not too much in the sniper class... I prefer the semi-auto rifles (M14, Type 56).

Anyway... back to the original topic, I agree. Some classes (the american anti-armor, more notably) have weird kit assignments.

I found another thing I don't really like. I dont like the fact that you cant hear others firing there gun very well. I remeber in 42' you could listen for the specific sound of a gun to help give you a location of the shooter. In BF:V only your own gun can be heard. I was being shot at, I heard the bullets wizz by, but was unable to hear the direction of the firering. It turned out he was right behind me, but missing me. I think I would be able to hear others guns that close.

All and all I love the game, and play it all the time....but if ea and dice can fix the m60 problem, us heavy assult kit, and fix some other the 3d sounds, they will have a great game. I want a patch to fix this stuff realy soon.

The type 56 is such a kick ass gun. But true, the m60 is a little too over powerful in this game, thats my only gripe as well.
