better be a hit. i think it will be, especially if they deliver a decent smooth game.
there will be some bugs, but if they get it right outta the box, it'll be $$$ again for EA.

never played a game this consistantly, for this long.
whole new game (not expansion) i'll buy it to judge myself.

It's kinda hard to say since the game isn't out yet. I don't think it will be a hit the same way bf42 was, just because bfv won't be something totaly new. I'm sure it will do fine, but it won't take people by surprise or anything like that.

most BF players will think that BFV is great, well thats what i think
i think it will be a hit, this is the first game ive ever pre-ordered and been anticipating so much, so it had better be a hit or else ::shakes fist::

yeah i'm going to wait to see what people on these boards say

I don't have alot of money right now so i have to be very careful what i buy.

It looks extremely fun and enjoyable with the same appeal as Bf1942. I'm a big skeptic at heart so hehe

It will be a hit even if the game itself stinks.

I think about 75% of BF owners will pick it up soon after its release though.

Well it all depends if DICE have leran´t from their previous mistakes with BF concering bad Mod support (at first), unflexible engine (not changed) and the bug issues. Also I don´t want to wait for a patch to get a decent filter and a decent vote HUD.

If they sort out that, then BF: Vietnam will be a hit. I probably won´t play it as much as BF, but EA dosn´t care howmuch I play.
The MOD support will have a significant impact on BF: Vietnam. If DICE manage to release a SDK for it, it will exremley boost the popularity...

if EA/DICE had any sense at all, they would take the basic design and changes that they mad to reg BF and put that in BFV, the voting and server filters and hit detection crosshairs and such

I don't think it'll be big. I think 1942 will be best. Plus all the mods, who would want to leave?

Well since its EA i probably wont get it, unless im really really bored and have nothing to do.

I try to avoid EA games as much as possible, simply because i think they are a shitty company. Same with Sony Online which exists only for money, and not to please customers, as seen with SWG which is rather Sub-par as where MMOGs are concerned.

Call me a hippy or whatever, but i can support better companies than EA.

On topic though, i doubt anyone will be blown away. The screens make it seem like a BF with different skins and weapons, and not much more.

Well, Gamestar, the most read PC Mag. in Europe rated BF: Vietnam with 91 %.

That is 3 % better than Vanilla BF had in LAN Mode, and 1 % better than in I-Net.

The Pros and Cons of Vietnam were:

Pro: Good graphics, new class system, balance, faster paced game-play (you don´t need to walk around for ages to get into action)

Con: only 14 maps (some replayed), no big changes (still similar to BF)

There were some other minors ones aswell and I might add them as soon as I look them up.

Surprisingly Gamestar, in comparisson to PC Gamer said the Harware recomendation was moderate.
They said the lowest rig only needs 800 Mhz, 256 RAM and a DX 8.1 card.
Obviusly adding more RAM gives the best performance increase...

Yeah, id agree with that. It just seems like a new mod for bf. But they can make more money if they say its a new game. Sure you can say its using a "new" graphics engine, but how much has changed? You could change one line of code and say its a new version.

They should have waited for longer and put more work into it.

For some reason it just feels like it IS going to be another expansion. As far as gameplay and everything its just like bf 1942 with vietnam era vehicles and weapons which could easily be done in a 3rd party mod for free. Don't get me wrong it should be good but it doesn't seem like its going to change much, not $50 worth.

I agree Solomon, but i just dont like giving out 70 of my dollars to a company that doesnt care about how satisfied i am. It will take more than a monthly newsletter to prove to me that they care about their customers.

I believe the only EA game i ever bought was BF. There are other companies that make excellent games out there and have better overall service than EA does.

My only concern is that some maps are going to be like the Phillipines map.
Incredibly long boring treks on foot, or waiting for boat spawn to get to the action, I sure hope not.

The demo supposedly coming out the same day as the full.
DICE usually picks a damn good map for their demos, and they'll be plenty
of demo servers to check it out.

I didn't put down a store deposit on BFVN, I usually do if i intend to get it the first day of release.
I have a feeling they'll be plenty first day of release. EB stores.

On the other hand, I'm not taking a chance with Far Cry and HL2 first day release. Deposit.
