Default Mods with BF: Vietnam

What do you guys think will be the fate on BF 1942 Mods once Vietnam is released ?

I personaly can´t wait for Forgotten Hope based on Vietnam instead of BF: 1942.
However so many Mods arn´t even close to completion yet and will so loose alot of player ground once Vietnam is released.

And do you think there will be a Desert Comabt for Vietnam aswell, or do you think it will take a while before the Moders start designing Mods for BF: Vietnam ?

Just share your thoughts about BF: Vietnam and Mods.

dc with 1942 is the worst mod ever, but dc with the vietnam engine with proper chopper controls will have a good chance of being decent

Alright here are my thoughts...
The precursor to BF42, Codename Eagle, used the refactor 1 engine. After BF's release if you remember the one of the first mods was Codename eagle. As sucky as it was (sorry rexman) it showed that the models/maps could be used with the BF42 refactor 2 engine. By the look of BFV, with its apparent use of 2D heightmaps and so on, plus the fact that BF models can be converted to various forms, means that theres alot of stuff that can be easily ported. Now theres one major if. The con files are almost sure to not the same. Anyone try using a Motorcycle in CEmod? Yeah, vehicles will most likely have to be recoded. I think that the benefits of the BFV engine with cause most mods to convert to BFV with relative ease.

sounds good melee , but the main thing i hate about DC is the helicopters and jets , they are just so unrealistic its not even funny - however .... with the vietnam engine dc will be able to make a very good mod (imo) because i saw helicopters hovering with ease on the bfv clips - and the jets i still cant tell about until i see a HUD.

Actually I think the BF: Vietnam controls will be inspired alot by the DC contols. So I wouldn´t get your hopes high...

I personally have no problems hovering in DC just takes a little skill. But flying a real helo takes alot of skill! so I think they are just fine!

The helo's in BFV will probably handle a lot like that funky one in the SW map Raid on Aghelia (sp?). I think that's one of the reasons it was included to see how it'd work in BF.
