Default TO DICE:Engie default gun the new support gun

DICE is going to somehow sooner or later realize that this weapon isn't being utilized as intended. It's now the choice of more and more ppl as a support gun.

It was meant as an anti-vehicle weapon, but it's use has been increasingly
switched over to an anti personel weapon with often devestating results.

It has long range, can be guided over hills to kill personel, and has lethal splash damage that personel can't take cover from.

On a map like Fall of Berlin, (center tower flag), 5 engies defending with default rocket launchers can get up on the top balconies and effectively blast
anyone approaching to cap. I've seen this done to great effect, almost unfairly.

Basically, support weapons were designed to do this type of work.

I suspect (and hope) that in the next patch, DICE will reduce the splash damage effect against personel, yet keep the vehicle damage power of the default engie gun.

Assault gun rockets give very little (if any) splash damage.
I used them for awhile. They're like the nade launchers in BF2 after
the patch. You can land one 2 inches next to the foot and it doesn't
kill.
Compare that to the lethal splash damage, long range, and guide ability of the engie
default rockets, coupled with Support guys running around giving them ammo.

I never said they were preferable in a close up assault firefight, they don't have to be upclose, they can stand far away and splash damage kill.

Assualt rifle rockets are much more accurate at longrange, they even have a range finder. However, the engie rockets don't have a rangefinder, and even worse, they waver when you shoot them at any distance.

Secondly, the splash of a single rocket almost equals that of a rocket splash in damage and in radius. You get 3 more accurate shots, and now with the booster pack, you get 4 shots, with an extra magazine. There's no doubt in my mind that the AR-rocket is the more favoured and efficient anti-personal weapon of choice.

Now, on a side note, not to get carried away on the original discussion. Changing the rocket launcher to a support weapon would be a mistake , I'v always been under the impression that the role of Support was too lay down suppressing fire on enemy infantry. If they were too ever do it, I reckon they'd outa make the rocket shell a fragment shell, thus not effective against vehicles, but good on troops. Giving the support class anti-armour capability would make support far too effective with the use of EMP grenades.

Lastly, for the hell of it i'll show you how many times i'v died in my countless hours too the mitchell AV-13.

Cheers, ~Richy

Noted. But you'll still see more players who have an assault gun unlock with "rockets" choose the engie default engie gun rockets as an anti personel killer.

I question your assault gun rocket splash damage compared to the default engie rocket launcher splash damage.

It's been noted here that you can be on a hill top outta of view of enemy and get nailed by an engie default rocket guided up and over the hill.

Try that with your assualt gun rocket pack.

My point to DICE is simply this:
Reduce the splash damage of the default engie rocket gun.
It's to attack vehicles.

Anyone with any brains (not messing with you) knows that ppl with an engie unlock CHOOSE NOT to go with the more powerfull single shot engie unlock anti-vehicle gun. Why? Because the default engie unlock rockets are a goldmine against personel. That's why.
