In an interview with John Hargelid, NetGameRadio managed to find out that there will be a big announcement coming out for BF2. There are supposed to be new maps. Official details should be revealed this coming Monday.

Points of Interest (gathered from host and fan questions):
- DICE, not EA has control over decision to turn off Master Servers, and they have no intention to shut them down as BF2 is still so popular.
- No 'official patch' mentioned, in the literally sense, just that there is something 'in the works' to be revealed on BF2's 3yr anniversary on Monday 22 June.
- Acknowledges the success of the stats system in setting a new status quo for game longevity.
- No intention in tweaking effective distance in regards to TOW missiles being able to take out assets at start of round (ie: TOW from Hotel to MEC base on Sharqi)
- Spectator modes/BF TV...would they happen for Competitive market for BF2 or future BF titles. "In heavy discussion...they want it...but it's not feasible for now.
- Frostbite Engine for PC - 'definitely possible'

would be cool to see something new happen with BF2, from the developers.

Some of these mediums have also hosted the file locally and in their own audio streaming server, with key references pointing to the interview. A BF2s member has also created a YouTube link for people wanting to hear the most important snippet of the night.

This download has now reached, in excess, of over 720 downloads on nGR's local server, not to count all the views and downloads from the fore-mentioned external sources. It's quite possible that the interview could have now reached to the tens of thousands of Battlefield 2 fans. This would make, this particular Battlefield 2 specific media interview file, Australia and New Zealand's most sought after and requested media file in the shout-casting industry.

It was apparent that netGameRadio's download servers were being hit extremely hard, during the spread of this news, when we had to fall back to our emergency file host provider in order to cater for the mass downloads.

There hasn't been a patch in over two years, thats nothing but a rumor. With the release of B2142 that game was over for support.

Plus with the release of Battlefield: Bad Company its reeeeally over.

So don't get your hopes up. A game 3 years old doesn't get support from EA. They have way too many games coming out
