Default binding control keys

Hi everyone

I recently patched up my BF with the 1.41 patch. When I was binding the keys to my likings there was a problem.

In the common controls, i wanted the crouch to be "left shift" but a message came up and said that a duplicate key was found in the helocopter controls. I looked at the heli controls and there were no keys with "left shift".

Any suggestions?

You might try putting in some obscure unused key in the helicopter controls to make it happy.

This still occurs even after I clear all the keys. The left shift will work for all the other keys just not crouch.

try deleting your bf2 controls file in My Documents/Battlefield 2/Profiles/0001/controls file.

When you fire up BF2 again...it should create a new fresh one.

Other than that...a complete uninstall, reinstall of BF2 and the FULL 1.41 patch.
If you do a complete uninstall reinstall, don't forget to say yes to
deleting profiles when the uninstall asks.

I usuallly set my crouch to C key. You probably want that key binded to another action.

You can't go wrong starting over from scratch.

This is a problem that EA has claimed they fixed in a patch. I think you can get around it if you manually edit the controls file.
