"Announcing..."
a new hack!
For those of you who still play BF2, there is a new hack circulating around the servers that allows a player from the enemy team to take over control of your artillary and send artillary strikes every 5-10 secs where ever they choose. The commander has no control over the arty and is helpless to stop it, so DO NOT become commander when you see this hack occurring as it only leads to smacktards on your own team to tk you to get "revenge." I don't know the specifics of how this hack works, but like the "infinite vehicle drop" hack, it's very easy to observe and thereby avoid. If your on a decent server with a good admin, then the hackers should be noticed and kicked/banned fairly quickly. If your not, then it's probably best to find another server.
The only real solution to the problem, outside of kicking the hacker, is to C4 your own artillary. It says it gives you negative points for "team vehicle damage" but I never noticed any points reduced from my team score, so it seems to play out like the "blue tag" bug, where even though it looks like the player is on your team, you still get positive points for killing him.
Avoid it when you see this hack in practice; and again DO NOT become commander when they are controlling your arty, there are plenty of smacktards out there just waiting to teamkill you as it is, so don't make them think they have a good reason to.
