Im new around here so be nice LOL.

Im no BF expert and I dont stat pad (never have) nor do I make it a life and death matter, I play for the fun of it and because it such a great game. I have all the games and still continue to go back into history an kick some butt.
Was wondering how many people here prefer to play BF2 over BF2142 or vice versa.
I personally find playing BF2 alot smoother (maybe because theres alot more patches). The BF2 game for better or worse has come a long way from when it was first released and it is such an enjoyment to play still, I wonder if BF2142 will entertain me at the same level for the same amount of time BF2 has.

Your thoughts anyone.

For better or worse, they really are different gaming styles. BF2 had some tactical aspects, but overall it was mostly arcade. BF2142 has basically thrown out the tactical aspect and gone full tilt toward the arcade side. The only way that you can really compare the two are in the errors and bugs. In that case, BF2>BF2142 for the sake that the bugs were less destructive and less influential to the gameplay.

This is really the same stuff that we saw with BF1942 and BFV, same engine, insufficient coding (programming time), and more bugs and problems than you could shake a stick at in the 2nd version (BFV).

The face of the monster has changed, but it's still the same monster.

^ well put. I like 2142, but BF2 was just getting old... PoE2 helped tremendously, and I will def. go back when Forgotten Hope 2 is released, but until then 2142 is keeping me entertained.
