Hey just wondering i was a previous ps2 BF 2 modern combatt player untell recently i got bored with the game and playing the same maps.
So im wondering i know BF 2142 is out BUT im looking more towards BF 2 for pc and wondering if it would still be worth the $40 or to just spend $60 on 2142? REally kind of want to know cuz im not just buying the game im buying a new video card to. prob gonna spend about $350 on this stuff to play a game,im sure my sys will stand up to both games after the video card upgrade and a clean install of my xp....very old 3 year copy new been reformatted lol So what im looking for is what to do buy bf2? or 2142? best choice.? 2142 sounds good but doesnt it kind of look like star wars now? guns shooting little blue lasers?Input guys and maybe ill be playing with you all one day. |

Well 2142 isnt really like star wars at all. The guns in 2142 are actual guns that fire rounds, not lasers. Bf series has and probably always will continue to have the intensity factor of live rounds exploding next to you and bullets buzzing past your player. Now the problem is of deciding whether you want futuristic battles or modern battles. I would also add that bf2 already has some mod support like Point of Existence 2 which is an amazing mod where as 2142 doesnt and probably wont for at least 6 months.
Teamwork wise 2142 is really intense on teamwork, even more so than bf2. I cant really tell you to buy either because each has its bonuses but i can tell you that i have had amazing times playing both of them. Ya will just have to figure out which is better for you right now. Hell ya could just get bf2 to train on because its cheaper and if ya like it then later get 2142 and ya will already know most of the in's and out's of how to play. |

Since it already appears that you got the game from your previous thread, I would say try it out before you get 2142. The basic gameplay is similar so you should be able to get an idea if you want to get 2142 from playing BF2 a bit. You also might try downloading the BF2142 demo to get a feel for the new futuristic weapons.
