Base Rape: Yay or Nay?

Personally, I think anyone who baserapes should have their PC removed from their possesion. I don't think it's a good tactic; its noobisg and childish. Cheap point whoring.

What do you guys think?

You are in a game where you kill other people, its kind of hard to say that they cant kill you when the whole idea behind the game is to eliminate the other team. So in the end, yea i dont care if they do or dont base rape. If your team has any skill then they will kick them out of the base and you can proceed to get some payback. If your team sucks, well then you might as well quit or whine.

True it may be noobish but if its so noobish then it should be easy to get rid of if ya have some skill. Frustrating as it may be its a game, just get rid of the noobs in your base and move on, or you could just find a new server.

If your team is crappy enough to lose all the cappable bases or not get any in the first few minutes of the game then they deserve to be raped. Its not very fun but its usually the teams fault.

I disagree. If you are on a carrier and all you can do is spawn before you die, then its unfair.

It really depends on the situation. Most the people that say it's fine and it's just eliminating the other players like you are suppose to, probably have no class, manners, and are most definitely not mature enough to engage in a gentlemen like manner of fighting. They are probably just making up for their shortcomings in the real world through their computer and you just happen to be the target.

A lot of servers specify if base raping is ok or not.
I read their rules upon joining. Some servers don't mention base raping.

Sometimes it happens (on a map like Sharqui Penensula) where the MEC just
can't get one flag the entire time and you wanna do more than just wait for them to come to you.

One server I play on is War is Hell server. They say base raping is ok..."war is hell." lol

I was just about to mention this server. I think its great because no one can whine about being spawn killed, so people just get down to playing. I have noticed that less people actually do baseraping on this server anyways (though it could be because they seem less noobish).

I don't baserape myself because it usually leads to the enemy capturing bases behind you (like taking the airfield on Wake) and once those bases are taken, it usually means the end of the game for your team.

All in all, I just play along with the server rules. If it's allowed, it gets rid of the whining, if not, then admins will usually take care of the perpetrators.

Yep...I will always try to get round and cap a flag...bit hard with the commander scan though as all he has to do is drop arty on where you are heading.

That's why they gave the carrier two AA platforms. Perhaps they need to add a couple more. I notice most teams that are geting raped on the carrier can manage to get a few planes in the air but just proceed to chase around the chinese aircraft in circles rather than bail out on an undefended flag. That deserves some base raping. If you get pissed, then leave and find another server. If I join a server and my first spawn is in the receiving end of a rape fest then I'm OUT!

Though sometimes when I'm raping it just makes me sad like I'm killing a bunch of baby bunnies. That's when it's too much.

I hate people baseraping me but we do it to others and its a part of the game I dont like it but its a part of the game that you have to sometimes deal with.

The point of the game is to kill every single enemy on sight, so baseraping I dont mind, if we are getting raped we deserve it for allowing them to do that to us and besids this is war.

I may have an odd sense of reality but I thought it was a game, not war.

For non league/clan matches, I've never been keen on base raping (from either side), but if it's allowed in the server rules then it's something you just have to grin & bear. If my team hold all the flags & are heading off to the enemy's main base, I'll usually hang back to try & cover the bases our (raping) guys have left undefended. If I'm on the receiving end of a raping, I'll try to get out of the base by any means necessary, then go around capping all the rear flags the enemy rapers have left undefended.

What I really don't understand are the people who still rape even when they don't have all the flags. Maybe it's just for cheap kills/points or some kind of odd tactic that I just don't get.

I know that being on the receiving end is no fun, so I much prefer the teams to show a bit of sportsmanship when it comes to one side only having their main base to spawn at and at least give them a fighting chance.

I'm okay with base raping if the other team has another spawn point. Like raping an airfield so they can't launch their fighters, it's strategic and forces the people in waiting line for an aircraft to move into the game.

If there's another spawn point besides the one I'm bombarding then I feel no remorse. But if that's the only place they can appear... I'll look into bombing artillery, uav and the fighters even when landed.

the only time i ever go near an un-cap, is when im chasing a chopper BACK IN, or a jet BACK IN. (im against baseraping, but im not gonna let sumone go back and repair AFTER they get out)

Baseraping is totally n00bish and anyone who does it is just a point whore plain and simple. I'll only play on servers that ban it and have the admins on there to back up the ban.
