Hmmm...this belly flopping wasn't mentioned pre-patch. It's always been the only way to get any kind of accuracy from the pkm especially. If you used it standing up, you hit nothing, then got killed by your target. We support guys had to develop that hitting the ground prone before we could shoot. I guess you never noticed, since even like that the gun was wildly inaccurate. Now, it's more accurate, you probably read what killed you where you didn't before, so you're noticing it. Before the patch a pkm could down a Blackhawk and Cobra. It took some good doses of fire, but it was more effective than the ground AA without nerfing the armor on the chopper.
I doubt I'll ever trust standing up and firing the support guns even with the patch. I'm gratified someone is finally noticing they're in the game, now. Look at my K/D ratio and accuracy with that gun. You fired 50 rounds to get one hit. Now, I expect to be able to fire 25 rounds to get a hit. It's a machine gun. It should do some damage. I might add, it's best used from a distance, pouring down fire on bogies whether you hit them or not. The rain of bullets makes them dive for cover so your assault people can get in close enough to...assault. The only real way to get points is to drop ammo bags. If that style of play wins the flag, I could care less about the points. |

Caslons words of wisdom. I love them. Gimmie a hug Cassie! No more uber toob for you, so sad, I cry for thee. Just so you know, the G3 is much much better than the default assault guns, although it doesn't have a noob tube so I guess its useless for you.
Also, since dolphin diving has been done away with, you can't worry about belly flopping. Because its the same thing. I play as support a lot now, because its actually usefull. I got a 19 kill streak yesterday with it, but that was because I was running around the building by a flag mowing down everything I saw. No one fired a shot at me. I was killed by artillary. So those of you saying its way overpowered, just try shooting the guy using it. Also, its not a sniper rifle, so you are not going to be mowed down by it from 3 blocks away. Its a support weapon. It suppresses the enemy so your squad can move in.

Mines are a bit hectic now, maps such as devils perch are loaded with claymores, making it impossible to get up the stairs at the back, other maps like surge, warlord, once the exit from their uncappable is mined, they can forget about getting armour out the rest of the game

I hate how the AA doesn't lock on to planes until they are five feet away. Then the planes deploy flares and you loose the lock, and it takes twelve hours to lock on again. By the time its locked on again the plane is out of range (six feet away). Bloody annoying.

Yeah Shadow and I were playing yesterday and he was talking about how they turned off the FF on claymores. Unfortunately they didnt on the server we were playing on.
Shadow: "Hey look! The claymore doesnt explode!" he was behind it... Me: "Cool, that seems really useful! Yay it doesnt ex-" I walked in front of it *BANG!* Aaaah medic!!!!! |

ok well i played 2 rounds as inf on Strike at Karkand and, OMG!! They nerfed it to hell, it sucks. Im not even going to bother looking at other stuff they changed or im ganna need to shoot myself.

Could you expand on that for me?
I put out my beef with the new patch. Support weapons on some city maps...silent death from far away. Encouragement of newbs to flop camp even more without regard to "support" flag caps. I'm ok with the Assault gun nade launcher tweak as I said earlier. |

I detect a waning of enthusiasm. I'm reminded of working on old plumbing. You get that one leak repaired, but all the pushing and pulling creates another one up the line. On and on it goes, till you get to the end, and there's a leak where you started. The game isn't a year old yet, is it?

I love the new patch. Last night, I had a f-18 coming straight at me. I fired and it hit and killed him instead of flying right past him. Its finally even now but you know the pilots will cry a river till they figure out they will have to adapt and actually have to work to rape bases.
I notice my AT isnt as powerful anymore but I just try harder to find the sweet spot. I have been playing AT class for years and not about to change now. I love guiding it into snipers. Oh yea.

Hi all,
I've only been playing BF2 for a short time and felt I was doing good at it. I've made Gunnery Sergeant and got all badges for BF2 and SF2 with even some veteran badges already. I'd gotten a feel for the game and for the most part the new patch has kept the same feel for me. There are definitely some changes I like and some I think quite frankly ruined some things. I'd glad all the bunny hopping and firing is gone with dolphin diving. I felt this game has alot of realism and I approatch it that way all the jumping kind of dispelled the realism. I know it's just a game and all. I just felt all the jumping is for UT or Quake etc. I also like some of the gun tweaks they did, like the support guns actually being usable now. I think they went too far on the nerfing of the BlackHawk it basicially is useless now. I agree it used to be too powerful, but now can't hit or kill anything. This combined with the reducing of the helo armor has pretty much killed the BH and the big Russian/ chinese helo. I want to know what's up with the EU weapon unlocks in SF, or actually the unlocks in general? I mean I waited and just made gunnery sergeant to get a weapon unlock so I could try the new sniper. Well, I choose it and go to play SF. Guess what I can't use / select it??? The map was Ghost town which is an awesome map to snipe on and it wouldn't let me use that gun. I've noticed that on some SF maps one side can't use certain unlocks like the F2000, and the other can. WTF? On ghost town neither side could use the new sniper because I tried on both sides. What good are weapon unlocks if you can't use them half the time or not at all. I had to go play regular BF2 in order to try the new sniper out. It's SWEET BTW. I feel if you have made the unlock choices you should be able to use them on every map and side. That just makes sense to me. I see that there is a new patch already under way so hopefully they will maybe address some of the issues with the BH and other problems. Overall I love this game and have a blast playing it!!

Hi mate welcome to here.
Did you try different SF servers? As far as I know all unlocks can be used once selected unless the server has locked them. Theres a revised patch comin out soon so maybe things will be better then :/ |
